GPT Sources Analyzer ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that analyzes conversations from GPT-based platforms. This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles user data.


## Data Collection


**The Extension does NOT collect, transmit, or store any personal data or conversation content on external servers.**


All data processing occurs entirely within your browser on your local device.


## What Data is Processed


The Extension processes the following data locally in your browser:


1. **Conversation Data**: The Extension intercepts network requests to extract conversation metadata including:
- User queries
- Conversation turn summaries
- Source citations
- Additional sources found but not cited
- Excluded sources


2. **Storage Data**: The Extension uses Chrome's local storage (`chrome.storage.local`) to temporarily store conversation analysis data so you can access it later. This data is stored only on your device.


## How Data is Used


The Extension uses conversation data solely to:


- Display analysis in the extension's sidebar
- Generate CSV exports of conversation analysis
- Enable users to review their conversation sources


**All processing happens locally in your browser - no data is sent to external servers.**


## Data Storage


- All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's `chrome.storage.local` API
- Data remains on your device and is never transmitted externally
- You can clear this data at any time by:
- Uninstalling the extension
- Clearing Chrome's extension storage data
- Using Chrome's "Clear browsing data" feature for extension data


## Data Sharing


**The Extension does NOT share any data with:**
- Third-party services
- External servers
- Analytics services
- Advertising networks
- Any other parties


## Permissions Used


The Extension requires the following permissions:


- **webRequest**: To monitor network requests (read-only access)
- **storage**: To store conversation analysis locally in your browser
- **activeTab**: To interact with the current GPT conversation tab
- **debugger**: To access Chrome DevTools Protocol for network interception
- **tabs**: To verify and manage GPT conversation tabs
- **Host permissions** (chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com): To inject content scripts and intercept API requests


These permissions are used exclusively for the Extension's functionality and do not involve any external data transmission.


## User Rights


You have the right to:


- **Access**: View all data stored by the Extension through Chrome's extension storage
- **Delete**: Clear all stored data by uninstalling the Extension or clearing extension data
- **Control**: Disable or uninstall the Extension at any time


## Third-Party Services


The Extension does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.


## Children's Privacy


The Extension does not knowingly collect or process data from children under 13. The Extension processes data only from conversations you access through your browser.
